Levin on Rush Limbaugh...

Mark Levin is a fantastic radio host himself, and is right on track with his nomination of Rush for Man of the Year over at Human Events:

Rush: God's Creation Is So Complex and So Massive, We Are Insignificant

Rush Limbaugh had a great commentary yesterday that included discussion of the spectacular and devastating eruption of the Chaiten Volcano in southern Chile. Here is a part that I enjoyed:

For those of you buying into this silly compact fluorescent lightbulb scheme, when you look at these pictures from the UK Daily Mail, I want you to try to convince yourself that the type of lightbulb you use matters a hill of beans to anything, when you look at the raw power. And then after you do that, after you ask yourself, after you tell yourself how worthless, how irrelevant, I should say, the kind of lightbulb you use is, I then want to ask you, "Are you one of these people that's bought into this silly notion to unplug your toaster and all of your electronic appliances when you're not using them?"

You might want to do that to save electricity, that's fine. But if you're doing it to save the planet, I want you to take a look these pictures and ask yourself if unplugging your Sunbeam toaster, your Mr. Coffee, your cell phone charger, will matter a hill of beans to the climate of this planet. If you answer yes, you have a serious vanity problem, or worse: Your life is meaningless and you'll be talked into any scheme or hoax to believe in in order to make you think your life has a purpose, such as saving the planet. You're simply helping a bunch of socialists tear down the greatest capitalist system on the face of the planet if you go along with this rotgut garbage.

Amen. Let's sue Al Gore.

John Kerry: Obama will be a great President because we're all bad people... and he's black

I've caught as much of Rush possible lately, and at the end of today's show he played some clips of 'the haughty John Kerry who served in Vietnam' talking about how great President Obama will be for this country... because of, well, the color of his skin. Keep helping John!

Here's the transcript with El Rushbo's comments:

RUSH: Here's how difficult it's going to be for Barack Obama to keep race out of his campaign. When you've got idiots like the haughty John Kerry (who served in Vietnam) out campaigning for you, you're rolling the dice. (laughing) Last Monday, Kerry did an interview with the New Bedford Standard Times. It's in Massachusetts, the New Bedford Standard Times editorial board, and of course they taped him. An unidentified reporter said, "Why would you say that? What gives Obama credibility on that score?" Kerry had said that Obama's blackness and Muslim background is his main qualification for office, and would help him with American foreign policy, and the reporter said, "What gives him credibility on that score, particularly?"

VIETNAM VETERAN JOHN KERRY: It would be such an affirmation of who we say we are as a people, if we can elect an African-American president, a young leader who is obviously visionary and got an ability to inspire people. It would give us an ability to talk to those countries, to, in some cases, go around their dictator leaders to the people and inspire the people in ways that we can't otherwise. I think in the end, um, he has an ability to help us bridge the divide of religious extremism, to maybe even give power to moderate Islam to be able to stand up against this radical misinterpretation of a legitimate religion.

RUSH: Man, this is what I mean. When you got guys like this speaking for you, you have no control over. Do you realize what you just heard? This is the former Democrat presidential nominee, and he has just encapsulated here the liberal Democrat view of this country where it comes to race: "We are guilty!" Whatever anybody, particularly our enemies - whatever radical Islam thinks of us - they're right. We are guilty, because we are racist, sexist, bigot, homophobes and all that. And we need to elect an African-American president, a young leader, obviously visionary, to show the rest of the world that we are who we say we are as a people. To bridge the divide of religious extremism? (laughing) Kerry said this on Monday. I don't think Jeremiah Wright was a common household name at that time. (laughing) Bridge the divide.? He has created the divide! He's widening the divide! He's dredging the divide! He's dumping the sand of the divide on both sides of the shore. But Kerry wasn't through. The reporter said, "Why would you say that? What gives him credibility on that score, again?"

VIETNAM VETERAN JOHN KERRY: Because he's African-American! Because he's a black man who has come from a place of oppression and repression through the years in our own country. His life story, you know, a Kenyan father who abandoned him and he was raised by a single parent and -- and -- and found the purpose and values to go to college and make something of himself. That's an important lesson for America to show Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and other places in the world where disenfranchised people don't get anything.

RUSH: Folks, I'm sitting here laughing because it's Friday, it's the end of the show, but this is outrageous, though. This is just... What must John Kerry think of his own country in order to say these kind of things? That only Obama, because he has a Kenyan father, his life story...? He hasn't had any oppression in his life. He wasn't raised as an African-American. He wasn't down for the civil rights struggle. He has no ties to that. That's what the black community was worried about when Obama first announced. That's what "Magic Negro" is all about. That's what "Is he black enough?" was all about. He found the purpose and values to go to college, make something of himself? That's an important lesson for America to show Egypt, Jordan? What? He went to college? It's an important lesson to show Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia? This is ass backwards. This is 180 degrees out of phase. What ought to be happening here is that we ought to be telling some of these other places what's wrong with them and because if they don't fix it they keep attacking it, they are in peril. Did you see, by the way, the story that the Saudi Arabian government is going to start training 40,000 new imams to try to deal with this Wahhabi sect that's causing all the grief? So anyway, there you heard it: John Kerry (the haughty John Kerry who served in Vietnam), speaking Monday to the New Bedford Massachusetts Standard Times editorial board.

Newspapers are supposed to be so much better at television at providing hard facts and context to today’s news. That’s not what the Washington Post did on Saturday in a snarky Style section article on Rush Limbaugh raising $2.1 million on eBay (and donating the same amount) to a worthy charity auctioning off Senator Harry Reid’s snotty letter to Clear Channel Communications denouncing Rush Limbaugh’s remarks about phony soldiers like Jesse Macbeth.

Neely Tucker’s short piece failed to explain the context of (a) what Rush originally said on the air about phony soldiers and (b) what Reid’s letter to Clear Channel said about they should "publicly repudiate" Limbaugh for his comments. The Post tried to discount the whole affair as "petty bickering about patriotism" and "grandstanding."

In Baqubah Update 05-July-2007, I included an anecdotal report from an Iraqi official here in Baqubah about al Qaeda baking boys and serving them to their families. I made no further comment as to the veracity of the report, which readers will see had very few specifics.

However, in the context of al Qaeda savagery, the evidence of which is seen daily as our soldiers clear Baqubah and other areas of Al Qaeda, the report is not surprising.

I write these words only about 3.5 miles from a mass gravesite I recently visited where the remains of decapitated children were buried along with the bodies of women and men. That grim discovery was the focus of "Bless the Beasts and Children."

Since that time, the news and debate has spread around the world. For instance, the radio mega-heavyweight Rush Limbaugh read part of the Baqubah Update dispatch to American listeners yesterday.

Each retelling of the story adds flourish and personal commentary to the simple words I wrote from here in Baqubah. Please refer back to my source document for the truth of the original reporting.

Whether the story of al Qaeda baking children is true or not, I do not know. However, I do know that since the attack on al Qaeda in Baqubah on 19 June, the citizens of Baqubah are very happy, markets are opening, and there has been practically zero fighting in the last couple of weeks. My father, Rush H. Limbaugh, Jr., delivered this oft-requested address locally a number of times, but it had never before appeared in print until it appeared in The Limbaugh Letter. My dad was renowned for his oratory skills and for his original mind; this speech is, I think, a superb demonstration of both. I will always be grateful to him for instilling in me a passion for the ideas and lives of America's Founders, as well as a deep appreciation for the inspirational power of words which you will see evidenced here.

Rush on Bush, emotion, and apologies...

Now, I mentioned earlier that the president in his speech last night admitted that he made mistakes. Boy are they so ginned up about that, they're so excited about this in the Drive-By Media. [Are they] saying, “Do the libs ever apologize for the mayhem and inhumanity that they cause?” Does anybody ever demand that they apologize? Why do we allow ourselves to constantly be on defense about this? Who says that our very existence requires an apology? Hey, libs, how's that war on poverty going, huh? How many casualties in the war poverty? How many casualties from being weak on crime? How many casualties to our culture and society from liberal judges who slap criminals on the wrist? How many inner city families, libs, have you busted up? You feel bad about that? Oh, I'm sorry, we're not supposed to look at liberals' results, ladies and gentlemen. No. We're supposed to examine their good intentions.

Bush and the war on terror to defend and protect the country, and the US military charged with the actual responsibility for doing this, we're never allowed to examine the good intentions. How about apologizing for the abominations that have put on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in California? If there's ever an embarrassment in liberal land, that's it, how about some apologizes for what you've done? Why should they apologize. They wanted him to cry, they wanted to see a tear, or they wanted to see a bitten lower lip, à la Clinton. Look, people, he is president of the United States. It was a speech delivering facts, it was a speech informing the country and the world of what had gone wrong and what was now being planned to fix it. This was not about making you feel good, first, foremost, and only. “I wish he'd have had more emotion.” Probably would have been a better acceptance rate if he had, but he is who he is. I don't think his view of the presidency is that people want to see the commander-in-chief in any kind of an emotional display. Trust me. That's not a measure of strength, folks.

I saw a story last night, what was it, AP, talking about war-weary Americans. I just threw my hands up in frustration, as if any of us have some kind of direct role in prosecuting this war. If you are a war-weary American and you are not a military family, and you have not been sent to combat, then grow up! What do you mean, war-weary? What are we becoming here? A nation of linguini-spined pacifist wimps? “I don't want to be made uncomfortable, that's why I'm war-weary, Mr. Limbaugh.” On the one hand, all the libs are out there saying that we don't sacrifice, we're not making any sacrifice. So how in God's name can we be war-weary? The same people say we need to sacrifice and we’re not sacrificing, and in the same breath they then claim that we are war-weary. War-weary Americans? This is the media describing you.

War-weary, I'm sorry, is not you sitting watching the evening news or going to a movie or whatever you do or walking around the mall feeling uncomfortable about it when you have no involvement. That really frosts me, folks. This, of all things I read last night. It's time for this nation to grow up and become adults. But it's going to be hard to do with the liberals now running Congress, Oprah off in South Africa spreading Oprahization to Africa now that she's done it here in America. We got Dr. Phil out there and all these other touchy feel good things.

...While I have great sympathy for the loved ones of fallen soldiers, it seems that for many on the Left their “support” of the troops is expressed as sympathy for anyone in the military. Some lament that our soldiers (or kids as they often refer to them) have been sent to fight an unjust war by an idiot President who decided to invade Iraq to line the pockets of his rich oil buddies. To those people, the troops are seen as victims to be pitied. After all, they were just trying to escape the less fortunate half of John Edwards' two Americas, seeing the military as a last ditch resort to get a free education and job training.

I have been married to a Marine Corps veteran for the past 15 years, and I am confident in saying that sympathy is not what those in the U.S. armed forces want. They want the support and the respect of those they risk life and limb to protect. If they get spat upon, or accused of being terrorists or torturers instead, they do their jobs anyway. It makes the job easier though when they know the support and respect is there, and it is impossible to properly respect those in our military without acknowledging the work they are doing and the value of the sacrifices they are making.

We frequently hear even major opponents of the war say they "support the troops." What we rarely ever hear, though, is much about what the troops have done right in Iraq. I would love to hear anyone who disagrees with me on this one list of a dozen U.S. military accomplishments in Iraq that the average American could name. To say that things have not gone as hoped in Iraq is an incredible understatement, but that does not mean there have not been significant accomplishments made in the face of great difficulty.

Conservatism won when it ran as a Democrat...

... Countless commentators have already concluded that Republicans must “move to the center” to win in 2008. Haven’t they tried that already? In fact, that’s the problem. Paradoxically, the danger of losing its guiding principles—the foundation of genuine GOP leadership—was voiced by the same Karl Rove who now blames last month’s electoral defeats on “mitigating circumstances” and “critical mass.” To be fair, Rove got it right during a speech in February 2005, fully 20 months before these elections:

“The GOP’s progress during the last four decades is a stunning political achievement, but it is also a cautionary tale of what happens to a dominant party—in this case the Democrat Party—when its thinking becomes ossified, when its energy begins to drain, when an entitlement mentality takes over and when political power becomes an end in itself rather than a means to achieve the common good.”

If only Mr. Rove and his colleagues had heeded his warning.

The Republican leadership in Washington still have their collective head up their collective asses when it comes to what they need to do to regain control.

Rush Limbaugh:

“There hasn’t been any ideology in the Republican Party, any conservatism, for at least two to maybe four years. You could argue [President] Bush was more of an ideologue in the presidential campaign of ‘04, but in looking at what happened [on 7 November], it wasn’t conservatism that lost. Conservatism won when it ran as a Democrat. It won in a number of places. Republicanism lost. RINO Republicans, country-club blue-blood Republicans, this nonpartisan Republican identity, that’s what went down in flames. I’ve always believed that those of us who are conservative believe in the ideology. We believe it wins. We believe it’s best for the country. We believe it’s best for the people. We believe it’s ultimately compassionate, and it has not been present... Now, where are these future conservative leaders?”

JUBILANT DEMOCRATS SHOULD RECONSIDER their order for confetti and noisemakers. The Democrats, as widely reported, are expecting GOP-weary voters to flock to the polls in two weeks and hand them control of the House for the first time in 12 years — and perhaps the Senate, as well. Even some Republicans privately confess that they are anticipating the election-day equivalent of Little Big Horn. Pardon our hubris, but we just don’t see it.

Our analysis — based on a race-by-race examination of campaign-finance data — suggests that the GOP will hang on to both chambers, at least nominally. We expect the Republican majority in the House to fall by eight seats, to 224 of the chamber’s 435. At the very worst, our analysis suggests, the party’s loss could be as large as 14 seats, leaving a one-seat majority. But that is still a far cry from the 20-seat loss some are predicting. In the Senate, with 100 seats, we see the GOP winding up with 52, down three.

The Republican Party isn't perfect by a loooooong shot, but putting the Dems in power will be devastating... higher taxes and impeachment hearings guaranteed. Punish Republicans? - punish yourself and your kids. We need another conservative on the Supreme Court too!!

(WARNING: This post will be an impatient rant against conservative impatience.)

Okay, guys. We need to stay the course - and I'm not talking about Iraq.

The conventional wisdom is that Republicans are going to lose the 2008 midterm election because of the Foley scandal. Social conservatives in particular, it's being said, will stay home on election day rather than go to the polls to support the Republicans who have allowed the House of Representatives to be tainted by a sordid sexual scandal - or even vote Democrat.

For any social conservative who's feeling this way, I have one question: Have you completely lost your marbles?

Look, it would be hard to get more socially conservative than I am. I'd be perfectly happy with laws against emailing sexual content to anyone you're not actually married to, let alone to teenaged boys who assist you in your job as a U.S. legislator. I'm in a practically perpetual snit about the mainstreaming of porn and the declining standards of morality in America.

But the voting booth is not the place to indulge your temper, or to idly and carelessly "send a message" that you're frustrated about everything in general, or one irrelevant thing in particular. Your vote is your chance to change the government, not to express yourself.

I myself am a resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia. For Senator, I get to vote for George Allen, a man who irritates me in many ways. In particular, and in this very Senate race, he's annoyed me no end by attempting to scare voters off his Democratic opponent, Jim Webb, by painting Webb as insufficiently enthusiastic about women in the military.

Now, you can't be sufficiently insufficiently enthusiastic about female soldiers for me. If I were in charge, I'd immediately purge all the military services of women--except maybe for a Florence Nightingale Navy Nurse's Corps, or some such. I think it's a warning sign of the death of Western civilization that we're sending the mothers of toddlers to fight in our wars.

But am I going to hesitate for one second to vote for George Allen? No, I am not.

Why? Because I know that while the Republican Party is infected with the rot that's destroying our society, the Democratic Party is the Societal Rot Fan Club.

Do we - to take just one very important example - really want a Supreme Court that will overturn Roe vs. Wade? After more than three decades of disappointments, we've finally got a President who will appoint that kind of Court, and a Senate that will confirm the justices he appoints. Let's not quit when we're in sight of the finish line.

Are we serious? Are we going to change the government, and the culture, and the country? Are we - this is the real question - going to act like citizens capable of self-government, or like disappointed children?

Update: Thinking protest vote or want to sit it out? Get ready to pay:

The GOP is swimming in a sewer: Foley, a floundering war, a spate of hit-books published to effect the election, a base that no longer trusts it on border security, spending and a few other things make this a nasty-looking mid-term election. But the Democrats have ridden to the rescue, putting tax increases back on the agenda.

Vote against Democrats... vote Republican, then let's work on the leadership.

I'm a frustrated conservative. Bush has been disappointing on the border, on amnesty, on spending, on tax reform, on government size, and overall for a complete and utter lack of productive communication. I'm frustrated, and as much as I want to teach a lesson to the existing Republican leadership, I'm even more afraid of the damage that a Democrat leadership will do to this country.

I listen and watch Glenn Beck. I listen to Rush, Savage and Sean. I read Thomas Sowell, Mac Johnson, Michelle Malkin, Brent Bozell, John Hawkins, Dennis Prager and Kevin McCollough religiously. I watch Brit Hume and Chris Wallace. I get news from blogs and online magazines. I manage this blog, and contribute to three others. I pay attention and am on top of what's going on in the world... pretty much anyway.

No one that I have seen, heard or read recently has had a better summary of why Conservatives should NOT stay home when it comes time to vote than Thomas Sowell in his recent four-parter "Frivolous Politics"

Part I:

... Even when serious issues are addressed, they can be addressed either seriously or frivolously. If you are content to see life and death issues of war and peace addressed with catch phrases like "chicken hawk" or to see a coalition of nations around the world fighting terrorism referred to as "unilateral" U.S. action because France does not go along, then you are content with frivolity.

You may deserve whatever you get if you vote frivolously in this year's election. But surely the next generation, which has no vote, deserves better.

Part II:

... On foreign policy, Democrats continue to argue as if talking with our enemies is the magic formula. We should keep talking with Iran while they keep building a nuclear bomb, just as the western democracies kept negotiating with Hitler while he kept building up his war machine in preparation for starting World War II.

Today, people ignorant of history - which includes graduates of our most prestigious universities - have no idea how close the western democracies came to losing that war and what an unending nightmare it would have been for the world if Hitler and his Japanese allies had won.

Nor do most of the liberal Democrats, which is to say, almost all Congressional Democrats, seem to have any sense of what an unending nightmare it will be for western nations if Iran and the international terrorists it sponsors have nuclear weapons.

Against that background, those disappointed Republican voters who plan to stay home on election day to protest their elected officials' failings are seeing politics as a way to vent their personal emotions. That is a frivolous self-indulgence in a deadly serious time for this nation.

Part III:

... When the American Civil Liberties Union and liberal judges are able to get criminals freed on flimsy grounds, or prevent hoodlums from being expelled from the public schools, the community most likely to be harmed is the black community.

How then can the Democrats consistently get the lion's share of black votes? And why can't the Republicans make any serious inroads?

Part IV:

... There was a time when we all understood that, whatever we might think of a President, we still had only one President at a time and that wholesale obstruction and undermining of him was obstruction and undermining of the United States in the face of its enemies.

Shrill obstructionist House minority leader Nancy Pelosi obviously does not share that view - and if Congressional Democrats win this election, she will become Speaker of the House.

If Democrats win the Senate as well, then they will have the power to not only impeach the President and Vice President, but also the power to remove them from office. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would then become President Nancy Pelosi.

Please read all four parts of this article if you are considering a protest vote or not voting at all. We can't keep kicking the can down the road with the evil that's developing around us and within us. A Democratic leadership is too dangerous to risk in today's world... for any amount of time.

Rush Limbaugh was on the mark today discussing the feckless U.N. and its untouchable leader Kofi Annan.

What is desired is the annihilation of Israel.

Resolution 1559? I talked about it yesterday. That UN Security Council resolution, for all the good that body is worth, was designed and written and commanded Hezbollah to disband, to get out of southern Lebanon, in exchange for Israel getting out, and of course Israel got out, and they got out of Gaza, the idea being that there would be peace. Israel keeps expressing the desire for peace. They keep going along with all this and they always get backstabbed and they know they're going to get backstabbed, and what Tyrrell wrote here is exactly correct. Israel gets out of the area of Gaza and the areas where Hezbollah is, and Hezbollah comes after them and is launching missiles now!

And somehow we have people in this country who talk about the collective punishment of the Lebanese and Palestinian people. Well, let's blame who's really responsible. Who is putting innocent civilians in harm's way? It's not Israel. It's Hezbollah. I told you yesterday: Hezbollah is not allowing civilians in its land, in its area of southern Lebanon, to leave. They are launching these missiles at Israel from civilian homes. They are doing this on purpose, precisely to generate this kind of idiotic, uninformed response about collective punishment and a "disproportionate" Israeli reply or answer or retaliation, and the same thing goes for Hamas.

These are the people that put bombs on their own kids, for crying out loud! These are the people that strap bombs on their own kids and send them out to blow themselves up hoping to take out some Israelis at the same time, and somehow we keep hearing about a "disproportionate response," and we keep hearing about "a collective punishment." Some people in this country still cannot see it -- and I know why it is. There's just a genuine dislike on some people's part, a genuine hatred on many people's part, for Israel, for a host of reasons, all of which you could figure out and I don't have to mention here.

One of them is, though, that it's considered to be a powerful nation, and all these surrounding little Arab regimes and terrorist regimes are the victims, "and it's just not fair that Israel can respond with such force, and this is a fair. It's disproportionate. It's not proportionate. Israel should response with proportionality." It's absolutely asinine. All of this is asinine! I'll tell you what about Kofi Annan and the United Nations. You know, we hear about SDI, the Strategic Defense Initiative. I think the most effective anti-missile shield is located in the UN building. You talk about an SDI?

No, you hear George Bush called a dim bulb, and you hear Republicans labeled as being members of the culture of corruption, but you don't hear it about the UN, which defines corruption and something lives off of it: oil-for-food, sex scandal in his Africa among the blue helmet so-called peacekeepers. You ever hear the phrase "bad plan," a bad plan from the UN?

You ever hear it? No! You hear that about Bush and Iraq, but you never hear it about the United Nations in Rwandaaaaa, or Lebanon. You ever hear of investigating the reporting in the Congo or the UN rape-for-food? You ever hear anything about this? You hear any criticism? How does the UN do it?? How does our media let them do it? Come on, just for once, repeat after me: "Kofi Annan is a frat boy. Kofi Annan is a dim bulb. Kofi Annan lied to the people. Kofi Annan represents Big Islam. Kofi Annan!" Every attack line that you've heard leveled at Bush would be justifiably aimed and correctly stated about Kofi Annan and the United Nations. It is an organization of supreme failure; it is an organization which can't back up even the extensible good things that it seeks to do.

It's a bunch of socialist libs and dictator tyrants made up of a bunch of small-minded, small-powered little nations against the big, bad United States and its evil, evil ally, Israel -- and so they are excused for all of their scandals and their corruptions and their bad plans and their idiotic statements, "Because they're just trying to do the good thing, Rush. We're not really supposed to analyze the results of the UN. We're supposed to examine their good attentions, like they want to ceasefire, ceasefire, back off and so forth." Well, they've never succeeded in getting one. Nothing they've ever done in this region has had any impact at all these been meaningful, and why everybody wants to continue to rely on them is beyond me, but I know it anyway.

Kennedy: battling depression, alcoholism, bi-polar disorder, cocaine, pain-killers...but who could be better for R.I.?

Why is being a Kennedy an automatic ticket to public office? I don't get it.

Patrick obviously has a problem with alcohol, pain killers...whatever else. Not an especially big deal, except for the complete double-standard from the media when compared to the similar case of Rush Limbaugh, who never smashed his car into a median (but imagine if he had!). It doesn't seem like it was just Ambien either.

Now the state Democrats are pretending that his long history of ongoing additions and mental health issues shouldn't diminish their support for him as a "competant public servant" in Congress. Nuts.

Leadership Before Flag-Waving

...It is little wonder why the American flag is now on a level plain with low salt liverwurst in academia, the breeding ground of liberalism. This is the same bastion that brought about outcome based education, in other words, as Rush Limbaugh would say, "2 + 2 = 5," and so on. Red ink on a corrected paper is harmful to the "self esteem" of the little flowers occupying our classrooms. To not offend, we ban school prayer (and with it, simple reflection, for those who so choose), and make the Pledge of Allegiance an option. Likewise for baseball leagues for kids with no scores. At professional baseball games, it is now not uncommon to see disrespectful defiance displayed to the national anthem when played, by player and fan alike. At some point, we forgot or abandoned what is right and wrong. Absolutes and personal accountability have been replaced by moral relativism and excessive, erroneous obsession with self-esteem.

Legislatures and courts are forcing civil unions and gay marriage upon the usurped electorate. So much for 2,000 years of natural order and the maintenance of the species by the nuclear family unit and procreation. If it feels good, do it. If the American Psychiatric Association labels homosexuality as a deviancy, yell and scream until the APA deletes the entry from its Diagnostic and Statistical Manuel, which is exactly what happened in 1973. That was a banner year. Baby in the way of your life agenda? Poof! Create a fictitious right in that paper written in ink, called the US Constitution, and call it a "living, breathing document," so mothers can kill their previously living, breathing infants. Problem solved. It was called Roe vs. Wade, and even pro-choice legal scholars have said it was based on bad law. And now, from civil unions, the promulgators of polygamy and polyamory are sticking their big toe into the water. And when Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) predicted that, many called them names prohibited by this decorum. Meanwhile, touch the eggs of a bird on the endangered species list, and you will be crucified. The American Civil Liberties Union has protected a group advocating pedophilia, but discipline your misbehaving child with a smack on the backside, and it is "abuse." It is little wonder why the Ten Commandments, many of which can be found in more modern verbiage in the penal code, are taboo from court buildings, but pornography is a "right" in the computers of public libraries.

Homosexuals are gay. (I'm afraid to ask what happy now means!) Homosexuality became an "alternate lifestyle." What used to be "in the closet," is now "in your face." Blacks are African-American. Orientals are Asians. Teachers are "educators". Garbage men are "sanitation engineers." Stewardesses are "flight attendants." Secretaries are "administrative assistants." Sales clerks are now "sales associates." The handicapped are physically challenged. Merry Christmas is Happy Holidays. Nativity scenes can be banned from schools, but students can be mandated to read the Koran. Sex change operations are now "gender re-assignments." Illegal immigrants are simply "immigrants," with the word "illegal" deliberately and deceitfully deleted, or they are "undocumented workers." Yes, I suppose, euphemisms are "rhetorical perception transfers." Where I come from, they are called something else. I can't say that word here, either, but I think you can figure it out.

We have a despicable and gutless Navy Chaplain Corps, that by policy, now bans mentioning Jesus Christ in sermons, to prevent offending members of other faiths, in spite of the fact that those faiths are represented by chaplains of their own denominations as well. That's right, I said "gutless." If you cower from political correctness, even though you would stand up to an incoming shell, you are still gutless, as well as a hypocritical fool. It is said that in war, even an atheist soon finds God in a foxhole. Those officers of the Navy brass who made this hideous policy are traitors, not only to their country, but also to the troops under their command. Communist regimes ban religion because they recognize that faith only strengthens and bonds the people the government seeks to dominate. It is pretty pathetic when communists know something that our military leaders obviously do not. To revise an old childhood poem, I guess the Navy Chaplains Corps' new motto now is, "Bombs and shells may break my bones, but being called a bad name will always hurt me."

Now to pander to illegal invaders of our country, we are expected to be tolerant of them, and not offend them. Why, so they don't get mad and go home? When does the gutless pandering end? When does the hypocrisy end? I was kicking this article around in my head the other day when I was driving down the road in the car and the oldies song, "Only The Strong Survive" came on the radio. I thought how ironic, yet true it is. In the animal kingdom, only the strong survive. In history, only the strong survive. Compare Chamberlain vs. Churchill to see what appeasement gets you. Nothing has changed. The more you give in, the sooner you die. Our country is dying, and we're not fighting back.

At some point, men became dandelions. Tell an off color joke, and you get sent to a class on racial sensitivity. Tell a sexually explicit joke, and you go to a class for gender sensitivity. Raise your voice and you go to anger management class. All of these institutions were created because of extremes, and then became extremes themselves. Men have been declawed and defanged in our society. (Well, some of them, anyway!) It is wrong to be forceful, opinionated or confident nowadays. This is part of the erosion of our culture, brought about by liberal political correctness, insidious social experimentation and engineering, and playing a shell game with the sexes. Women, for the most part, and like it or not, are meant to be nurturing, and men, the protectors. Such are natural human instincts, put in us by God, and for good reason. Now, we have loving, motherly nurturers playing warrior, and confrontational protectors crying to show their "sensitive, feminine, softer side," and we wonder why everything is in turmoil.

No means no. It is time to say no. Right means right, and wrong means wrong, and not what you feel or want those words to mean. There was a time not all that long ago when right and wrong were not a question. Most people knew the difference. There was no debate. Authority was respected, not "challenged" to quote the radical, liberal bumper sticker. Authority within Constitutional limits meant order and decency, in much the same way that borders give a country form, shape and boundaries for specific reason, just like a football field, to quote another sage Limbaugh analogy. There was a time when we even knew what the definition of "is" was, without a disgraced President trying to define it for us (And under oath, no less!). No explanation was required. People just naturally understood. What happened?
