Doug Giles always has his own brilliant twist to add, and it's usually not subtle.

His latest column titled Christianity Sucks and Islam is Awesome? is no exception, and it pairs up perfectly with Michelle Malkin's latest Vent - an interview with Robert Spencer about his latest (7th) book.

Listen, 21st century truth reconstructors . . . you’ve gotta relax. Please do us all a favor and go get healed from your bad Sunday school experience and lay down your church grinding axe. Thinking people aren’t buying the “Christianity = Islam” smack.

Get real, Goofy. You and I both know that regardless of what a few loopy CINO’s (Christians in name only) have done via violence in the name of the Father that it is not in the body of Christian doctrine to hack off the noggin of the obstreperous. There’s not even an obscure passage in the Book of Revelation that some demented clod could twist like your Gumby doll to make the Christian scripture green light your demise or anyone else’s. Additionally, Christians aren’t longing for TBN to replace DC as our nation’s headquarters.

So chill, you shrill shredders of Christianity.

On the flip side, it is within the pages of the Koran to convert, conquer or kill non-Islamic people. And I’m a thinkin’ that no matter how much you work to besmirch Christianity and misinform on behalf of militant Islam, that if they had it their way, you, the secularist, would be a deceased grease stain on God’s green earth.

Therefore, gay guy, loosen that neckerchief and relax on the anti-Christian rhetoric, okay? Atheists, dial down and go back to studying monkeys (or whatever you do) and secularists, switch to decaf and exhale because you guys are barking up the wrong tree in trying to paint Christians as a coercive, could-be-violent, cabal like, militant Islam.

Radical Muslims, on the other hand, are the ones you need to sweat—because their book has zero tolerance for the likes of Sully and Jay—or anyone for that matter, who doesn’t lock step. You can bet your backside that if uncut Islam were in charge, Christopher Hitchens would be history, Drew Barrymore would be nevermore and Andrew Sullivan would never be seen again.

The Judeo-Christian worldview (and subsequently, the great western traditions it under girds) is the only powerful cudgel in existence to ward off militant Islam. That’s what makes the Left’s lies about Christ’s Church and the Left’s desires to diminish it so diabolical. If the church’s presence and power gets marginalized via these secularists’s anti-Christian propaganda, then all I’ve got to say is, “I hope everyone is cool with wearing burkhas.”

Laura Ingraham filling in for O'Reilly... (updated)

Laura Ingraham does a great job filling in for Bill, and last night was no exception. I imagine that she'll have her own show on Fox News soon.

This video from HotAir is the only clip that I can find from last night at this point, but it's a good one with Robert Spencer.

I'll add more clips if/whenI can find them. (FoxNews.com videosdoesn't have any yet either) Her talking points on how the decision to pull the OJ book/interview is a cultural victory are worth watching if you missed.

... Some Muslim women say that it is their choice to wear it; I don’t agree. Why would any woman living in a tolerant country freely choose to wear such a restrictive garment? What these women are really saying is that they adopt the veil because they believe that they should have less freedom than men, and that if they did not wear the veil men would not be accountable for their uncontrollable urges — so women must cover-up so as not to tempt men. What kind of a message does that send to women?

But a lot of women are not free to choose. Girls as young as three or four are wearing the hijab to school — that is not a freely made choice. Girls under 16 should certainly not have to wear it to school. And behind the closed doors of some Muslim houses, women are told to wear the hijab and the veil. These are the girls that are hidden away, they are not allowed to go to universities, they have little choice in who they marry, in many cases they are kept down by the threat of violence.

So for women such as them it was absolutely right for Jack Straw to raise this issue. Nobody should feel threatened by his comments; after all, the debate about veils has been raging in the Islamic community for many years. To argue that non-Muslims have no right to discuss it merely reinforces the idea that Muslims are not part of a wider society. It also suggests, wrongly, that wearing the veil affects only Muslims. Non-Muslims have to deal with women wearing a veil, so why shouldn’t their feelings be taken into consideration? I would find it impossible to deal with any veiled woman because it goes so deeply against my own values and basic human instincts. How can you develop any kind of a social relationship with someone who has shut themselves away from the rest of the world?

And if we can’t have a debate about the veil without a vocal minority of Muslims crying “Islamophobia”, how will we face other issues, such as domestic violence, forced marriages, sexual abuse and child abuse that are rife in the Muslim community?

Muslim women across the world are caught in a terrible predicament. They aspire to live by their faith as best they can, but their faith robs them of their rights. Some women have found a way out of this dilemma in the principle of separation of organized religion and state affairs. They fight an uphill battle to achieve and hold on to their basic rights.

Update: Robert Spencer from Jihad Watch covers the story of Robert Redeker, a philosophy teacher in France, who has gone into hiding after receiving death threats for a column he published in the French newspaper Le Figaro...

... It was unclear what those issuing the threats are upset about. Were they contending that Redeker had lied about Muhammad? If so, they must contend with the fact that many Muslims around the world seem to agree that Muhammad was “a merciless war chief, plunderer, slaughterer of Jews and a polygamist.”

... The ugly truth about existential warfare—and that is what we are engaged in with militant Islam—is that the only way to win an existential conflict is to kill as many of the enemy population as possible and to destroy as much of its society as possible.

This is precisely what we (and our allies) did to Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan during World War Two. The reason these two enemies were defeated and pacified is because literally millions of their young men were killed, and their societies were brutally battered into physical and psychological submission. Just because we no longer have the stomach for this type of warfare, for bloodletting on this massive scale, doesn’t mean it is not an effective strategy for winning wars. Indeed, it is the only strategy. It certainly is the jihadists’ strategy, only limited by their lack of military capability.

How quickly we have forgotten 9/11. How blithely we assume that an even more devastating attack could never happen. A nuclear bomb in New York City or one of our other great metropolitan areas could inflict more casualties than we suffered in World War Two. This is what we should be fighting to prevent. We should not be fighting for elections in Iraq.

Today, our excessive compunction about killing the enemy, and about having our own soldiers die in combat, is the real reason the gloomy scenario described by Kurtz may come to pass. For “peace” is not an option. Even if we do not fight the jihadists, they will keep attacking us, and keep trying to kill as many Americans, Jews, and westerners as possible. Kurtz surely is right on that point. But the answer is to fight harder, not resign ourselves to an even deadlier future.

Israel is losing the war. Not militarily, but Hezbollah isn't trying to win militarily. They're all about the real war, the war of public opinion... and that's where they're winning.

What about these photos of Hezbollah fighters dressed in civilian clothes in civilian towns? Can Israel not attack them if they stand behind civilians? Is it not wrong for them to do that?

How many terrorists drop leaflets like these prior to blowing up a building so that innocents can leave safely?

It's Hezbollywood baby! A dead Lebanese child is worth much more to them than a dead Jewish child. That's their game. They are not fighting a war of bombs and rockets. They're fighting a war in the media with propaganda, playing on guilt and sympathy.

These photos are very graphic, but why aren't more people asking questions about the timing of all the shots and who are the people in them that show up again and again? What's up with the guy in the green hat? What's going on? The bad guys are winning in the war that counts... the war of public opinion, that's what's going on. What can you do? Stop buying the propaganda crap.

Gillerman isn't buying it. Neither should you.

Jason over at Texas Rainmaker sees 4 possibilities:

1. Israel really is barbaric and repeatedly targets civilian populations;
2. Hezbollah terrorists once again hid among civilians, making Israel’s self-defense incredibly more difficult to avoid collateral damage;
3. Both stories were manufactured by terrorist propaganda;
4. The 1996 incident was an accident (fueled by terrorists launching attacks from among civilian populations) and the outrage was so great, the terror-loving world decided to re-enact it during the current conflict.

The truth must be told. Iran, Syria, Lebannon... these countries do not have a free media. The news is controlled so that the leaders can spin stories in their favor. Is that really what we have here too? Horrible images, yes. But do we not see through this for the big picture?

Israel is losing the war of opinion. Now we'll see if they can at least pound Hezbollah into the ground militarily. They're our enemy too.
