At 500 students, this class (Oregon State University) is one of the largest on campus, and the instructor reported that after it was filled she "had women in my office crying, trying to get into the class." That’s understandable. For the intellectually apathetic student (which is to say, for the majority), upper division credits for watching TV is a great deal. And for the intellectually vacuous instructor, it’s a class commensurate with her abilities. ...
