Alito is extreme, far-right, ultra conservative...SCARRY!

Actually, not so much.

THE LAST WORD
by Jonathan V. Last
"It's been barely 48 hours since Samuel Alito was sworn in as a justice of the Supreme Court and he has already embarrassed many of his Democratic foes. On Wednesday night, in his first official action as an associate justice, Alito voted to uphold the stay of execution granted earlier to a Missouri death-row inmate. Robert, Scalia, and Thomas voted to lift the stay of execution.

This is an amazing rebuke to Democrats and liberal interest groups which shamefully and unfairly attacked Alito as a crazed, radical extremist who would blindly follow the conservative line.

But now that they've been exposed, where are the Democratic groups lining up to apologize to Alito, to admit that they were wrong about him. Surprise! They're nowhere to be seen. Ted Kennedy didn't note the event. Lefty blogs such as Daily Kos made no mention of the Alito vote. It's as if it never happened. Contradictory evidence does not exist; past fights are flushed quickly down the memory hole.

It's not surprising, but it is shameful."
MoveOn.org has kindly made it easy for you to send a message to all of the U.S. Senators who voted for an Alito filibuster.
"Last night, the attempt to filibuster Samuel Alito's nomination was defeated and this morning the full Senate voted confirmed him to the Supreme Court. Twenty-four Democrats and one independent voted for a filibuster — doing everything in their power to prevent Samuel Alito from replacing Sandra Day O'Connor on the Supreme Court.

We can encourage more senators to show this kind of bravery by thanking those who stand up for our values.

Please take a minute to write a quick note of appreciation and we'll pass it on to the 25 senators who supported the filibuster:"
Bayh (D-IN)
Biden (D-DE)
Boxer (D-CA)
Clinton (D-NY)
Dayton (D-MN)
Dodd (D-CT)
Durbin (D-IL)
Feingold (D-WI)
Feinstein (D-CA)
Jeffords (I-VT)
Kennedy (D-MA)
Kerry (D-MA)
Lautenberg (D-NJ)
Leahy (D-VT)
Levin (D-MI)
Menendez (D-NJ)
Mikulski (D-MD)
Murray (D-WA)
Obama (D-IL)
Reed (D-RI)
Reid (D-NV)
Sarbanes (D-MD)
Schumer (D-NY)
Stabenow (D-MI)
Wyden (D-OR)

Maybe these open-minded Senators didn't really think he was too extreme. Maybe it all just came down to Alito's Mom telling the world that "of course, he's against abortion." Maybe they aren't thinking for themselves as much as they're pandering to the lefts money machines. What do I know. It's nuts!

How about the double dose of greatness that the good folks in NY and MA get to enjoy. The combinations of Schumer/Clinton...

...and Kerry/Kennedy...

...are fantastic. (This picture of Kerry and Kennedy just begs a caption, doesn't it. Drop one in a comment if a good one comes to mind.)

Here's a recent post with some other left links. The MoveOn TV ads are pretty painful to watch. The background music...sheeesh.
