Have we lost our collective mind?...
Craig R. Smith has a great article today over at World Net Daily called "No good deed goes unpunished":
I couldn't agree more. American Marines are shackled in prison and humiliated in the media before charges have even been filed with their lawyers, but Guantanimo needs to be shut down b/c it's too harsh on suspected and/or known terrorists who want to kill us. Nuts.

...The great news of the week was the killing of al-Zarqawi. Our fine fighting men and women stayed the course, did not lose sight of the mission, did not cut and run, and got the No. 2 man in al-Qaida. I have yet to hear a voice from the left applaud the efforts of our troops. Holding true to form, the leftwing blogs have spewed how this will only create more terrorists and embolden our enemy. Frightening part of their comments is that they believe them. The rest here.
Where is Jack Murtha the ex-Marine to say, "Job well done guys"? I suspect, if Murtha is consistent in his approach, he will soon demand the airmen dropping the bombs be brought up on murder charges. The good guys always end up being the bad guys no matter how well they do the job. Harry Reid apologized in advance before saying, "He got what he deserved (al-Zarqawi)." The left looks not at the evil eliminated, but will suggest soldiers murdered a misunderstood man who should have been brought to one their liberal courts for "justice." Just watch! You will see.
Have we lost our minds? What happened to right is right and wrong is wrong? Moral relativism is creating a society that knows the difference between good and evil and yet cares not. Let the drug dealer go because the cop didn't say "good morning" politely enough. Release the rapist/murderer because the handling of the DNA evidence may have been in question. Call the lead detective a racist and your murderer O.J. Simpson goes free.
What the h–- is going on? Why is this occurring?
I have no clue. I can, however, tell you with absolute certainty that if we don't fix it soon we are in deep trouble. Who in his right mind will want to serve in a volunteer military knowing if a mistake is made he will end up with less rights than the enemy he is fighting? Or worse, to find himself abandoned by the very institution to which he pledged full loyalty, even if it meant the ultimate sacrifice...
